Nighttime Bullynetting For Lobster In Islamorada

Bullynetting for lobster is a technique that takes advantage of the crustaceans’ nocturnal activity. We use a long pole with a net attached to one end and high-power lights around the boat to spot and attract the lobsters. When we get close, it’s on! Quickly plunge your net over the lobster to capture it. Don’t worry, we won’t give you too hard of a time if you miss.

Target Species

We’re targeting spiny lobster on the flats at night as they come out to feed. We’re always out to catch our limit (six per person), but that doesn’t always happen. Bullynetting for lobster is all about the experience—seeing these creatures at night while they’re feeding is something you rarely get to do.

Where We Fish

The grass flats around Islamorada are prime habitat for these delicious crustaceans. The run time is only a mile (about two minutes), from the marina to where we start bullynetting. It’s a short trip and we’re in the action. This really maximizes our time fishing for lobster on these three-hour trips.

What's Included

Our captains have everything taken care of! The cooler is loaded with ice and the nets are ready. Our boats are meticulously maintained and we have all safety equipment and licenses covered for your trip. Never been lobstering? No problem! We’re here to teach you everything you need to know to catch em! After the trip, your captain will process and prepare your catch for transport home.

What To Bring

Come prepared for the weather. Our captains will be in touch leading up to your trip to confirm the conditions. We recommend bringing comfortable and breathable long-sleeve tops and light pants. Spiny Lobsters are exactly that, SPINY, so we recommend wearing close-toed tennis shoes. It also doesn’t hurt to have bug spray in the warmer months.
